How it works

The liquid enters the pump under the action of gravity through the inlet check valve, which makes the float rise. After the float rises to the upper limit, the supply valve opens and steam or compressed air enters the pump, gradually applying pressure to the pump until it is sufficient to overcome the back pressure. The pressurized liquid opens the outlet check valve and begins to drain the liquid. When the float drops to a lower position, the supply valve closes, blocking the steam or compressed air, and the exhaust valve is opened, and the pressure inside the pump is reduced. The liquid refills the pump chamber at this point.
